Dabisson A. Bolaño R. was born in Caracas, Venezuela in 1980. His passion for the Martial Arts began at the tender age of five. After three years of training at the Eskarate Academy, he received his orange belt in Kenpo Karate. Continuing his study of Kenpo, he began at the Oskarate Organization where he trained for the following twelve years of his life. In 1996, he received a Black Belt 1stDan and three years later went on to obtain his Black Belt 2nd Dan. Competing nationally and internationally at a junior level, he achieved champion titles in Forms and Sparring. Dabisson was a member of the National Federation of Kenpo, representing his Venezuelan birth state of Miranda for four years. Dabisson’s passion for the Martial Arts and the desire to gain more knowledge drove him to integrate himself into the Shuri-Ryu Association of Venezuela (Karate Do) where he trained for two years during which he obtained a 4th Kyu ranking.
In 2000, Dabisson moved to the United States in hopes of continuing his career as an athlete and as a Martial Arts instructor. He began working as an instructor at the Academy of Martial Arts in Miami, Florida. During this time, he taught his knowledge of Karate, while simultaneously studying the RDCA (Robert Duzoglou Combative Arts) style. His study here led him to learn techniques from various styles such as Boxing, Ju-Jitsu, Grappling, Kickboxing, Aikido, and more. After four years at the Academy, Dabisson received his 1st Degree Black Belt in RDCA. During the course of his training in RDCA, Dabisson began to teach Physical Education, Karate, and Soccer at the International Christian School on Key Biscayne, FL.
Using the knowledge Dabisson had acquired up to this point, he created FitPunch—a unique work out system that combines Martial Arts, Kickboxing, Self-Defense and Weight Training. He began to work one-on-one with clients during personal training sessions. His work lead to a desire to combine the personal training he was doing with adults and the exercise program he was teaching children. Realizing this dream, Dabisson opened a karate studio, UKATA (United Karate After-School and Tutoring Academy) in 2007. The dojo integrated Martial Arts training for all age groups with an added component of after-school tutoring in order to simultaneously foster academic success for his younger clients.
In 2008, thanks to the success of FitPunch and the clientele it had brought in, Dabisson decided to focus his efforts on expanding this unique way of working out through personal training. He founded DA FitPunch Inc. and currently has a large following of dedicated clients who have enjoyed continual success thanks to this work out phenomenon.
Due to this success, Dabisson was hired to teach FitPunch as a group class at the Sports Club in the Four Seasons Hotel in Downtown Miami. In addition, keeping up with his love for teaching youth, he is teaching Kenpo Karate and soccer at Kids Learning Adventure (a private preschool located off Brickell Avenue in Downtown Miami) as part of their after-school program. Here he also plays the role of Physical Education teacher during the school day. Dabisson teaches his Kenpo Karate after-school program at the L’atlier Preschool in South Miami, as well. Dabisson teaches Kenpo Karate at Skanda Yoga Studio off Brickell Ave. and at the Grand Bay Club on Key Biscayne. Working with adults and children is very fulfilling and Dabisson hopes his work will affect their lives in a positive way by teaching them the skills they need to lead a healthy life-style.
